Rotherham United Shirt up for grabs for Africa

Rotherham United Community Sports Trust are working together with Africa’s Gift to take a team of young volunteers to Africa to work on a school refurbishment and food growing project  in a township just outside Cape Town. The volunteers will also lead sports workshops sharing their skills with the underprivileged children. The visit will be hugely developmental for those involved and will provide an insight to life in a very tough part of the world.

To raise funds for the trip to Africa, there is now a signed Rotherham United Shirt on EBay that was worn by Rotherham United player Richie Smallwood.

Steven Monaghan, one of RUCST’s volunteers said, “The funds raised will give all of the volunteers the opportunity to make a great impact on the African communities. The money will enable us to buy additional supplies when we are out in Cape Town to make sure we complete the project to a high standard for the children and families we want to help”
