Millers youngster signs new two-year deal...

Rotherham United youngster Mason Warren has put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal with the club.

The 19-year-old left back joins fellow Academy graduate Jerry Yates in committing his future to the Millers after impressing as part of the club’s first-team setup in the 2015/16 season.

Warren, who is yet to make a senior appearance for the club, was on the bench for the FA Cup game against Leeds United at Elland Road in January and featured on the club’s pre-season tour of Scotland last year.

“I am really pleased to have signed,” Mason told www.themillers.co.uk

“I am glad I’ve shown enough to be given the chance to sign for the next two years.”

In his first season as a professional with the Millers, Warren enjoyed loan spells at Sheffield FC and Harrogate Town.

In February he was awarded the Town Player of the Month Award after helping the team keep four consecutive clean sheets and the versatile operator believes his temporary switches have aided his development greatly.

“Going out on loan has definitely benefited me,” he added.

“Playing men’s football is what every young player needs, and I feel it’s really brought me on over the last few months.

“My aim now is to try and break into the first team. The manager has said that I need to come back flying in pre-season and give it a good go."
