New signing Lee Camp talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

New stopper Lee Camp was delighted to have put pen-to-paper on his deal with the Millers when he spoke to www.themillers.co.uk following a hectic transfer deadline day.

The 31-year-old admitted that the deal ran close to the 6pm deadline on Tuesday but was thrilled to complete a move that has been on the table for some time.

“I’m just really pleased to get it over the line. It was touch and go but we managed to push things through and I’m buzzing to be honest,” he beamed.

“I’ve known about a little bit of interest in me for a while and I wanted the opportunity to come and speak to the manager and as soon as I got here he told me what it was all about and what they were trying to do.”

The former Derby County and Nottingham Forest man featured for the Cherries against the Millers on three occasions last season, keeping goal in both the FA Cup and Sky Bet Championship fixtures at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The Northern Ireland stopper explained that his experiences in both matches last campaign had stayed with him and he had no doubts about opting to join the Millers despite interest from elsewhere.

“I played here a couple of times last season with Bournemouth and the thing that stood out with the recent success was the atmosphere of the place and the supporters. It wasn’t a hard sell.

“There was a couple of other clubs I’d spoken to and a bit of interest but I knew once I got in front of the manager and he showed me about the place then this was the place I was going to be.

“I’m delighted to be here and I’d like to say a big thank you to Eddie Howe and the people at Bournemouth for helping the move along on what is a busy day."
