Greg Halford talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

UTILITY player Greg Halford insists the Millers’ pre-season tour of Scotland is the perfect preparation for their up and coming Championship campaign.

The ex-Forest and Brighton defender-cum-striker is one of 10 new summer arrivals at the AESSEAL New York Stadium and Halford believes their short three game tour north of the border is an opportunity for the squad to bond on and off the pitch.

“The tour has been a good chance for the team to come away and do some team bonding,” he enthused.

“All the new players have a chance to get to know each other and is an opportunity to get minutes under your belt for the start of the season.”

Halford was a Millers starter during their convincing 3-0 victory over Greenock Morton last Saturday but was an unused substitute for their narrow win over Dundee on Tuesday night.

Speaking exclusively to www.themillers.co.uk ahead of their final tour match at Patrick Thistle on Saturday, Halford revealed he has adjusted to life in South Yorkshire with a minimum of fuss.

“I feel like I have settled into the club very well,” he added.

“The club have made me feel very welcome. The games have come thick and fast and we trained between games, so it’s been an interesting pre-season for us.”
