Grant Ward has extended his loan with Rotherham United...

Rotherham United have extended the loan of Grant Ward from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season.

The midfielder has been in sparkling form for the Millers this season making 27 appearances in all competitions.

The 21-year-old has played a major role since the arrival of current boss Neil Redfearn becoming one of the first names on the team sheet.

After Ward concluded formalities of his extension this afternoon, the versatile operator confirmed he was delighted to be staying at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

“It’s taken a bit longer to get done but I’m very happy to have extended my loan until the end of the season,” he told www.themillers.co.uk

“Since the gaffer has come in I’ve started more games and that’s important and I’m starting to see the progression in my career which I need at my age.

“The fans have been really good to me since I’ve been here and that started in pre-season. That’s been massive for me and it’s given me a lot of confidence.

“I think there are about 17 games left and the aim is to stay up and I can’t see any reason why we can’t do that.”

Ward has netted twice this campaign against Burnley and Bolton.

He is yet to make a first team appearances at Spurs but has enjoyed successful loan spells with MLS outfit Chicago Fire and League One side Coventry City.
