Farrend Rawson stays at AESSEAL New York Stadium...

Rotherham United have extended the youth loan of Farrend Rawson until the end of the season.

The defender has been a key figure for the Millers under Neil Redfearn this season, scoring two goals in 15 Championship appearances.

The 19-year-old is currently enjoying his second loan spell at AESSEAL New York Stadium, after making four appearances at the back end of last season.

“Young Faz has done really well,” boss Neil Redfearn told www.themillers.co.uk

“Faz has been impressive when he has played; he is a talented young lad with a long career in front of him.

“He has been here for a while now, he was here for a spell last season, so he knows all about us and we know all about him.

“He is still learning his trade in what is a tough division but he has done really well. The more games that he gets under his belt, the better he is going to be at this level.

“We are also obviously very grateful to Derby County for allowing him to stay with us.”

Rawson netted in the 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic at The Valley back in September and most recently in the defeat at Fulham over Christmas.

He was also a key figure in the recent three home victories and cleans sheets over Bristol City, Hull City and Bolton Wanderers.
