Work began this morning on preparing the pitch at AESSEAL New York Stadium for the 2015-16 season.
Head Groundsman Dave Fellowes watched on as work started to remove the top of the award winning playing surface, as the ground staff begin the process of preparing another top class pitch for next season.
“This morning we have started a process called fraise mowing which generally takes the top surface down to the crown of the root, and we have removed the existing vegetation,” Dave told www.themillers.co.uk
“The first stage is almost complete, we are now picking up any leftover bits of grass and then we can move onto the next stage of top dressing, which will be completed by tomorrow.”
Dave will be looking to produce another quality surface as he bids to defend his Sky Bet Championship Groundsman of the Year award, which he collected last month.
