Paul Raynor post Dundee...

Assistant manager Paul Raynor was delighted to see his side continue their unbeaten run north of the border after a 1-0 victory over Dundee.

Manager Steve Evans kept to his promise of extended minutes for his side, with a host of players getting 90 minutes under their belt at Dens Park.

The Millers won the game thanks to a second half strike from Paul Green, and go to Partick Thistle on Saturday looking for a clean sweep on their tour of Scotland.

“Winning football games isn’t a bad habit to have, and if we manage to do that throughout the season we will be very pleased,” Raynor told Millers Player.

“It was a little bit of a scrappy performance; we started off the game well in the first 20 minutes and created a number of opportunities, a few half-chances. To be fair to Dundee they grew into the game, they had more possession and caused us a few more problems.

“We got the boys in at half-time, had a chat with them and spoke about doing things in the second half that would cause Dundee some problems, and get us some more possession. The boys took it in and it was an improved second half performance.”

The Millers kept a largely settled back five with ‘keeper Kelle Roos, Tom Thorpe, Danny Collins and Richard Wood all playing the full 90 minutes, whilst Evans also looked at Aidy White in a left-back position.

“It was good to get Aidy White on the pitch, he is a left-sided midfielder but can play left-back and with Joe’s injury it was good to utilise Aidy there,” Raynor reiterated.

“It was good to get an hour into him at left-back so we could have a look at him there. Aidy did well, the two experienced centre-backs in Richard Wood and Danny Collins look assured throughout, and I thought Tom Thorpe slotted in really well at right-back.”
