Gaffer happy following stalemate...

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans believes he got the response he needed, as the Millers were held 0-0 at home by Bradford City.

Evans’ men had their 16 game unbeaten run ended on Tuesday night but the Millers manager was pleased with the way his side reacted despite not taking all three points.

“We were magnificent after 10 minutes, we’ve laid siege to their goal and it’s lived a charmed life. Haris should score, we should have two penalties, Arnason should score from a great corner, Smallwood should do better from a corner and our goalkeeper hasn’t had a save to make a note. I looked for a response from Tuesday and they gave it to me.”

Lee Frecklington again missed out on a starting position, but winger Nicky Adams returned after illness, picking up the sponsors Man of the Match award in the process.

“He would have played at Bramall Lane if we’d have wanted. Michael O’Connor came in and we didn’t plan to give him 90 minutes but he’s done it and done well, and Richie Smallwood in there was excellent as well. Everyone played well and if we’d won it 2-0 or whatever, everyone would be saying the boys are back in town.”
