Nicky Adams recently spoke to Millers Matchday...

Flying winger Nicky Adams has called on his Rotherham United side to finish their League One campaign with a flourish as they cast one eye on their season defining play-off campaign.

Following their impressive run of form since the turn of the year, Steve Evans' men have compounded the critics to make back-to-back promotions a realistic proposition and although they have been unable to gatecrash the automatic promotion places with Wolves and Brentford nailed on to seal their Championship places at the first time of asking, Adams is confident his side have the ability to realise their Championship dream through the backdoor of the play-offs.

"Our aim is to get into the Championship and if we keep our form up, then why not?." Adams quizzed.

"We've been on an unbelievable run in the second half of the campaign and it's important we have momentum going into the play-offs as that is when we have to get the results.

"You want to go into the play-off games with good momentum. You don't want to go into them not winning games but the gaffer here has the mentality to try and win every game we play."

Adams was pleased to join forces with boss Evans as he put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal just a week after showcasing his talents to the NYS faithful with a starring performance for Sussex outfit Crawley.

The dynamic winger has had to bide his time to force himself into the starting line-up but with top-scorer Kieran Agard being pushed further forward in recent weeks, Evans has given him the mandate of providing the Millers with the X-Factor as they enter the season finale.

Speaking exclusively to Millers Matchday, Adams revealed he has been tasked with giving the Millers another attacking dimension.

"My game is to try and attack defences and make chances for the lads while chipping in with a few goals," he added.

"The gaffer brought me in and I was delighted to join a club like this.

"For the first two weeks, I had to be patient because we were winning games but I've come in and I think I've acquitted myself well.

"We've got a good squad of players but competition is healthy as it keeps you on your toes.

"However, I'm confident in my own ability and if I continue to play well then hopefully I will stay in the team but I'm really enjoying it here."
