Defender agrees deal...

Rotherham United have agreed a deal to sign defender Joe Skarz on a permanent basis when his contract with Bury FC expires.

The Huddersfield-born defender who initially joined the Millers on an emergency loan deal at the end of March has signed a two-year deal with the club and will kick-off the season in League One next season, where he had previously played almost 40 games already in this campaign.

“I think he’s been absolutely sensational since he’s joined us,” Steve Evans told Millers Player. “He’s salt of the earth, and he wants to come and work. He wants to improve, and for me he will play in the Championship one day, and he’s only 23 now, so we hope that it will be with Rotherham United.”

Skarz will become Steve Evans’ first signing of the summer when his new contract comes into effect later in the Summer.
