Rotherham United will parade their play-off trophy tonight...

Rotherham is planning a big 'town centre thank you' following Rotherham United's triumphant victory in the League One play-off final at Wembley.

Fans of the Mighty Millers will be able to show their appreciation today (Tuesday May 27th), when the triumphant team will travel on an open-top bus from the New York Stadium around the town centre to All Saints Square and on to Rotherham Town Hall for a civic reception.

After the club achieved their dream of Championship football on Sunday, Rotherham Borough Council is preparing for a town centre event that will allow loyal fans to join in the party at the end of yet another amazing football season for the Millers.

Starting at 6pm on Tuesday May 27, at the New York Stadium, the triumphant team will travel on an open-top bus around the town centre to All Saints Square.

Fans will be welcome to gather there to hear short speeches and interviews with the players, manager Steve Evans and chairman Tony Stewart, before the team move on to Rotherham Town Hall for a civic reception at 7.30pm.

The event will be a repeat of last year's open-top celebration when football fans turned out to say “well done” to the team for scoring an automatic promotion to League One.
