Former Rotherham United goalkeeper and current Community Sports Trust Futsal Coordinator, Andy Warrington is currently on his way to Thailand to represent England at the Seniors World Cup.
Andy along with former professional players will head out to Phuket to take part in the annual tournament. The tournament is in its 10th year and includes teams from Italy, New Zealand, Australia, Scotland and Thailand and will take place between the 1st and 6th of June. England are the current holders, so Andy and his team have a lot to live up to.
Andy commented: “It’s such a great opportunity for me to represent my country and promote the game on a world wide scale. Along with playing the games we will also get the chance to coach local underprivileged kids which will be a real privilege.”
Andy is due to graduate from Hull University with his PGCE teaching qualification after two years of part time study which is a great achievement. Andy also works within the Youth Department as the Head Goalkeeping coach alongside his day job as Futsal Coordinator with Rotherham United Community Sports Trust.
