Former skipper returns to club...

Rotherham United have re-signed former captain Pablo Mills after a successful trial with the club.

Mills, 29, has been training with the Millers over recent weeks and impressed in two outings for the reserves.

The defender, who was also utilised in central midfield during his first spell with the club, has penned a deal until the end of January.

The move will see Mills link up with former boss Steve Evans who signed him for his previous club Crawley Town.

“I had not spoken to Pablo in a while but he rang me and asked if he could train with us,” said Steve Evans.

“He came in, he trained, he played and let me put it into perspective, he has been simply stunning. He has been outstanding, he is fit, he is hungry and he is eager so we have brought him in until January.”

Mills first signed for the Millers in 2006 but was released after the play-off final defeat by Dagenham and Redbridge in 2010. He starred for Crawley in their promotion to the Football League and also played a major role as the Red Devils clinched promotion to League One. He left in 2012 and after a spell with Macclesfield Town last season, and re-joins the Millers ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Notts County.

“With Claude Davis being ill the other night we knew that we needed somebody,” added Evans.

“We looked at all sorts of players and different options, but we wanted someone to come in where we knew what we would get.”
