Laurence Bilboe pens a pro deal with the Millers...

Academy goalkeeper Laurence Bilboe has signed a one-year professional contract with the club.

Bilboe joins Kuda Muskwe, Darnelle Bailey-King, Tom Rose and Fabian Bailey in securing professional terms with the club, after successfully graduating through the Millers’ Academy structure.

Bilboe has been a regular between the sticks for the under 18s this season, and has also enjoyed the experience of reserve team action after appearing five times in the Final Third Development League.

“We brought Laurence to Rotherham United after watching him play during some exit trials a couple of years ago,” Academy manager Garreth Barker told www.themillers.co.uk

“Over the course over the last two years he has really developed. During this time he has trained with the first-team during the days alongside Andy Dibble before joining up with the Academy in the evenings.

“Laurence has really benefited from training with the first-team and working with the likes of Dibbs, Rob Poulter and other members of the Academy staff.

“He has also featured at reserve team level which has really helped his development.

“He has matured greatly both on and off the pitch. He really deserves this opportunity for his hard work and dedication. Well done to him.”

Bliboe has also played a key role in the under 18’s rise up the Youth Alliance table in recent weeks.
