Gaffer left disappointed despite dominance...

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans was left disappointed with the Millers’ first home defeat of the season after suffering a 2-0 deficit to Watford at New York Stadium.

The Millers dominated large spells of the game against the Hornets, only for substitute Lloyd Dyer and Gianni Munari to seal the win for the visitors.

“It’s tough to take because until they scored a goal they’ve been outpassed, outplayed and we were terrific against a top class side who I think will win promotion this season. We were fortunate on Saturday, we were second best all over the pitch and got the points but tonight we were the best side by some distance but they’ve taken a couple of chances and see the game out comfortably. Had we gone in front I believe it would have been a different outcome.”

The Millers took the game to their highly-fancied opponents with Ben Pringle and Lee Frecklington both testing former Spurs ‘stopper Heurelho Gomes in the Watford goal.

“I’ve got nothing but respect for Beppe and his club but it’s been a tough night for them. We played some fantastic football but we’ve got some excellent players as we’ve had from League Two so it’s a hard lesson this evening and it’s what the Championship is all about. I don’t know how we’re going home tonight without adding to our points tally.”
