There were two Rotherham United players in action on the world stage last week, with Kari Arnason and on loan defender Danny Lafferty involved for their national teams.

Millers’ lynchpin Arnason completed a full 90 minutes for Iceland as he helped them to a 3-0 Euro 2016 Qualifying victory over Kazakhstan.

A commanding performance from the 32-year-old saw the Icelandic rearguard keep a clean sheet, with a brace from Birkir Bjarnason added to an Eidur Gudjohnsen strike ensuring they added three points to their qualifying tally.

They currently sit second in the Group A standings, just one point behind leaders Croatia after five games.

Meanwhile, on loan Burnley defender Lafferty played a full 90 minutes for Northern Ireland in their friendly with Scotland last Wednesday, before being an unused substitute as his country beat Finland 2-1 in Group F to move up to second place.
