The Rotherham United Community Supports Trust has received extra funding from Age UK Rotherham.

The Community Sports Trust, will be offering 2 hour weekly sessions from Friday 3rd October 2014, 1pm – 3pm for 10 weeks at New York Stadium.  The programme will deliver a range of physical, social and cultural activities to a group of men over 50. These activities include: exercise, reminiscence, discussions, games, quizzes, and healthy eating.

Participants will take part in regular exercise programmes, such as otago, evidence based exercise and fall management exercise in a community setting that is design to help them to remain independent, improve mobility and reduce risk of falls through exercise and physical activity.

The aim of the programme is to improve mental health through social contact and encouraging social isolated men to engage in community based activities at the stadium.  Also, to improve cognitive ability through reminiscence activities and support the Rotherham Less Lonely Campaign.
