Steve Evans talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

Manager Steve Evans is set to lead Rotherham United for the 100th time as the Millers prepare for Saturday’s League One showdown with Peterborough United.

Evans, who was appointed as manager in April 2012, took residence in a dugout as Millers boss for the first time against Shrewsbury Town, and has since presided over promotion from League Two and a current fifth place in League One.

“Obviously I will be deeply honoured to have managed a club of the stature of Rotherham United for 100 games,” Evans told www.themillers.co.uk

“Many people have been speaking to me about the winning ratio of over 50% and whilst I recognise that achievement it could not have been done without the support of our outstanding Chairman Tony Stewart, my staff, the players and of course the fantastic Millers support.

“Every time I lead the Millers into a match, and I do so with great pride, never for a minute do I forget what it is like to manage this fantastic football club.”

The former Boston United and Crawley Town boss tasted victory with the Millers for the first time after a 3-2 victory over Morecambe, before leading his side to second place in League Two during the 2012/13 campaign, his first full season in charge.

This term has seen the club soar into the play-off positions, and Evans will take charge for his landmark fixture at London Road this weekend looking to increase the points gap between the Millers and Posh who occupy the final play-off position.
