Millers bag first signing...

Rotherham United have agreed a deal to sign Newcastle United midfielder Conor Newton, subject to a medical and Football League ratification.

Newton, who has spent the past 18 months on loan north of the border with St Mirren becomes the first signing ahead of the 2014/15 season, and put pen-to-paper two days ahead of the Millers’ play-off final at Wembley this Sunday.

The 22 year-old midfielder played 37 times in the league for the Saints last year, and scored in the final outing of the campaign against relegated Hearts, 12 months after netting the winning goal against them in the Scottish Cup final last season.

We will have a full interview with Steve Evans and Conor himself on the move to follow later today.
