Alan Stubbs talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

Rotherham United manager Alan Stubbs has confirmed that Stephen Kelly is set to miss out this weekend after picking up a thigh injury.

The Republic of Ireland international has been a prominent figure for the Millers this season, but is set to miss the visit of Cardiff City this weekend as Stubbs’ side look to extend their unbeaten run in the league at AESSEAL New York Stadium to four matches.

Whilst Stubbs acknowledged he was disappointed to lose his experienced right-back, he will take comfort in the fact that his squad is growing with the likes of Lee Frecklington and Joe Newell returning in recent weeks.

“We are getting players back but it seems at this time we get one back then we seem to get one out,” Stubbs told www.themillers.co.uk

“We just need to keep going. It looks like Stephen Kelly will probably miss this weekend. He has got a small thigh strain so he comes out of the equation for the squad.”

The Millers are boosted by the return of Darnell Fisher who has served his one match ban for his sending off against Nottingham Forest, but Cardiff loanee Tom Adeyemi misses out under the terms of his loan agreement.

“Unfortunately Tom Adeyemi is ineligible but apart from that we are okay and the rest of the squad is fit and healthy,” Stubbs added.

“Darnell has obviously served his one match suspension and he comes straight back into the squad this weekend.”
