The Millers are set for Scunthorpe test...

Rotherham United travel to Scunthorpe United this evening as boss Alan Stubbs looks to get more minutes into his squad ahead of the start of the Sky Bet Championship season.

The Millers are continuing their preparations for the new campaign, with Stubbs likely to give new signing Will Vaulks a chance to get some game time before the big kick off on August 6th.

“We were hoping we were going to see him against Sunderland, but unfortunately we didn’t get the registration in time from the authorities,” Stubbs told Millers Player HD.

“That’s all we are waiting on now, so hopefully we will have that in time for Tuesday’s game.”

Stubbs will be seeking good news on duo Joe Mattock and Greg Halford in terms of availability for tonight’s game.

Both were withdrawn as a precaution after Saturday’s narrow defeat against Premier League Sunderland.

“Joe’s is just a bang on the side of his knee and Greg was just feeling a little bit tight in his groin area,” Stubbs added.

“We’re hoping it isn’t going to be anything too serious and it was more precautionary than anything when we took them off."

The Millers travel to Glanford Park for tonight’s 7.30pm kick off, which is pay on the day only. Click here for full list of prices.

Stubbs’ side have enjoyed a two match tour of Poland and played local side Parkgate, Premier League Sunderland and a Tottenham Hotspur side behind closed doors so far during pre-season.
