Jake Henry talks to www.themillers.co.uk...
Rotherham United Lead Foundation Phase coach Jake Henry was also pleased as the Under 10s enjoyed a positive experience at Nottingham Forest in a recently organised Academy fixture. After the late cancellation of their arranged clash with Chesterfield, the Academy staff moved quickly to organise the trip to Nottinghamshire for a friendly fixture and were pleased with the game both on and off the field.
“It was a great experience for the boys to experience their facilities and it's obviously a prestigious Academy at Forest that has a good history of producing players,” Jake explained.
“The boys performed really well and all the parents enjoyed themselves because Forest were very accommodating, so I'd like to thank them for everything that they did.
“The lads that we took turned in a great performance against a strong Nottingham Forest side, both physically and technically.
“Our boys are really starting to show what we are working on in training and although we may be a category status below, we are showing that we can still compete with these teams."
