Rotherham United were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former player Harold Waller, aged 95.

Harold played 17 games for the Millers between 1943 and 1946, making his debut against Sheffield Wednesday at Millmoor, which included a goal in a South Yorkshire derby win for the club.

After initially joining as an amateur, he signed professional terms a year later in 1944.

Harold’s allegiance with the Millers came to an end in 1946 and he would go on to play local football for Dinnington Athletic and Kiveton Park.

Everyone at Rotherham United would like to offer their heartfelt condolences to Harold’s family and friends at this time.

After learning of the passing of another former player, Dennis Warner, earlier this week the club will hold a minute’s silence in honour of both players at the weekend's game with Queens Park Rangers.

Once a Miller, always a Miller.
