Loan signing Dael Fry is looking to soak up every opportunity to improve his game during his stint at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
The highly-rated central defender was snapped up by Millers boss Alan Stubbs on deadline day, with the 19-year-old penning a loan deal until the end of the season.
Despite his tender years, Fry has made a real name for himself after breaking into a Boro side last year that showed no qualms in playing the teenager, despite playing in the pressure cooker atmosphere of a promotion race.
Following the Teeside club’s ascension into the Premier League, Fry has been given the green light to move out on loan in order to continue his football education, with Stubbs winning the race to sign the England youth international.
Fry confirmed he jumped at the chance to go out and build on his fledgling English Football League experience, and he is now looking to soak up the experience of playing in one of Europe's most competitive leagues.
"I am absolutely delighted to be here,” Fry said.
“We have some good experienced players at the club and I am hoping to come here and learn from some of them, and go back to Middlesbrough a better player.
"The manager has played the game at the highest level, and has so much experience. It is always nice to be able to ask questions and soak up the knowledge; it is something that I will always do."
After making a good impression on debut for the Millers against Bristol City, Fry kept his place for the visit of Nottingham Forest where the Millers were unfortunate not to come away with maximum points.
Following the tough encounter last week at Ewood Park, Stubbs' side will be looking to get back on course when Cardiff City visit the AESSEAL New York Stadium this Saturday.
Fry will be looking forward to returning to home soil, where the Millers remain unbeaten so far in the league this season.
As he continues to hone his game in the red-hot atmosphere of Championship football, the level-headed youngster admits the work on the training ground has also had a significant impact on his development.
"Just working with some of the lads here on the training field is helping me to improve my game," he added.
"If the opportunity is there to speak with some of the senior players, or even work after training with them then I am always someone who will be ready to do that. During training to hear the voices of players who have been around the game is so useful, it is great to be in that type of environment.”
