Izzy Brown signs for the Millers....

Rotherham United manager Alan Stubbs admits he is excited at the prospect of working with new loan signing Izzy Brown after the Chelsea youngster put pen-to-paper on a deal until the end of the season.

The Millers boss bolstered his attacking ranks with the signing of the 19-year-old on Monday afternoon and Stubbs is keen to get the England starlet involved, who he says is a marquee signing for the club.

“We’re really looking forward to him being here and I think he’s going to give us a real threat in the forward areas in terms of creating and being a goal threat and it’s one that we’re all excited about,” Stubbs told www.themillers.co.uk.

“He is a very exciting player. He went to Chelsea for a lot of money a few years ago and they’ve got big aspirations for him and I think it’s a feather in the club’s cap the fact that Chelsea have loaned us one of their prestigious talents and one that they have really high hopes for."

The Peterborough-born forward has graced the AESSEAL New York Stadium previously in England colours but Stubbs was keen to emphasise his attributes to Millers fans that may not have seen him in action.

“He’s quick and he’ll give defenders problems,” he continued.

“Whenever you have real pace it’s always a problem for defenders and its something they’re scared of and we’re hoping that when he comes here he will be one that puts opposition defenders on the back foot.

“Predominantly he is a wide player, he has played off the striker or in that position on a few occasions but he is more of a wide man.

“He’s very direct and very positive when he gets in one-versus-one positions and we know he’s scored goals."
