Rotherham United’s Academy mainatined their push for the summit of the Youth Alliance league after a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Burton Albion.

The Millers moved into third position in the table after a dominant display, with goals coming from Reece McGinley, a Lewis Murr penalty and a third from Suleman Naeem to secure maximum points.

Garreth Barker’s side created numerous other chances with Tom Maguire hitting the bar and Ben Wiles also missing a good chance, as the Millers cruised to a well deserved victory.

“Overall it was a really good performance and another clean sheet,” said Barker.

“It was just an all-round really competent performance and hopefully we will have one of our centre forwards available again going into this week.

“They have set themselves a target of 19 points from 21, which we thought would have been hard to achieve, but at the moment, if they do get the win at the weekend it keeps them on track.”
