John Breckin joins Paul Warne's coaching staff...

John Breckin has re-joined the Rotherham United coaching staff on an interim basis to assist current caretaker manager Paul Warne.

Breckin, a former assistant to Phil Henson, Ronnie Moore and Mark Robins, has been working with the Club’s commercial team in recent seasons, but has agreed to help Warne, and head of Academy coaching Matt Hamshaw, as the Milllers continue their search for a new permanent first-team manager.

Breckin, whose association with the Millers goes back to his days as a player in the 1970s and 80s, joined the players and staff for the first time at the training ground this morning.

“We first spoke to John last week but I think because it was chaotic I didn’t want to bring him in before the game,” caretaker manager Paul Warne told Millers Player HD.

“Everyone knows him, he is a Miller and he has said he will come in and help me and the club, so I am delighted.

“He has been in the dugout for many games, he is very experienced and you cannot put a price on that.

“I saw him after the game on Saturday, I was beating myself up a little and he was just a voice of calm.

“He talks football similar to me, he doesn’t over complicate the game and a lot of my football beliefs have come through him.

“I played nearly eight years of my career for him here and at Oldham. I like him as a person too, he will be good for me, the players all know him so as far as I’m concerned it was an easy decision to make.”

There will be a full interview with Paul Warne and John Breckin on Millers Player HD shortly.
