John Doolan talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

Rotherham United assistant manager John Doolan is confident that the club will be well equipped on the player recruitment front by the time the summer transfer window closes.

The Millers have added four names to their roster this summer following the arrivals of Anthony Forde, Lewis Price, Jake Forster-Caskey and Will Vaulks and Doolan insists the hard work continues as they look to recruit for the 2016/17 campaign.

“We will get there and as I said before the biggest thing is bringing in quality to this great club that the fans can be proud of,” he told www.themillers.co.uk.

“We’ll look back on this period and we’ve got until the end of the window. We want people in as quickly as possible and before the start of the season but if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen.”

“There’s a lot of hard work going on to ensure that we do try and do that. If we don’t do that and we get them as the window comes to an end then so be it.”

Doolan, who joined the Millers alongside boss Alan Stubbs in the summer, says work is ongoing behind the scenes to bring in new faces to AESSEAL New York Stadium but deals will only be done on players that meet the standards required to compete in the second tier.

“We want quality here. We want players that the fans can be proud of,” he continued.

“We want players that want to come here and play for this club and know what it means to the fans and to us.

“If we see the right player out there we’ll get him and as I say a lot of hard work is going on.”

“There are options for players to go to other clubs and we need to make this as attractive a proposition as we can and we want to bring the best here.

“We don’t want to add people to the squad just for the sake of having a big squad."
